Air Commodore Biplab Banerjee (Air Veteran), Secretary NGBM Foundation was born in Humania Pota village in 1963. He is the 3rd son of Shri Krishna Mohan and grandson of Shri Nanigopal Bandyopadhyay.
His initial studies had been in the village primary school, Majhergram High School and Lal Gopal Higher Secondary School (Ranaghat). He did his graduation from Calcutta University, post graduation from Madras University, PGDM from IIT Kharagpur and M Phil from DAV, Indore.
He has been a fighter pilot in Indian Air Force (IAF), retired in 2019, after 38 years of service career. In his long service, he held numerous prestigious posts in IAF, like Commanding Officer (CO) of a Fighter Squadron, Base Commander of a Signal Station, Station Commander of an Air Defence Direction Centre (ADDC), Director and Joint Director level posts at Air HQ and Training Command of IAF, Project Director in DRDO, Air One of an Operational Command, Air Officer Commanding of a Fighter Base and Dy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defense Service (DACIDS), before he retired in 2019.
Post retirement, he served as a Flying Instructor at Indira Gandhi RashtrIya Uran Akademi (IGRUA). He also holds a Commercial Fying Licence. He is currently engaged in consultancy and social services.
