Mrs Chandana Chatterjee is a Member of the newly established NGBM Foundation.
She was born in Humania Pota village in 1959. She is the 3rd child of Shri Krishna Mohan and Smt Arati Bandyopadhyay and granddaughter of Shri Nanigopal Bandyopadhyay.
She completed primary education in the village school and thereafter, studied in Majhergram High School for secondary education. Chandana got married at an early age to Shri Dulal Chatterjee, and lived in Dumdum, Kolkata all throughout. She continued her studies even after marriage and joined under graduate curriculum in Surendra Nath College, Kolkata.
Chandana has been always kind hearted; she has been the anchor of the current generation of Bandyopadhyay Family. By virtue of her home being in a centrally located place in Kolkata, and the support of her generous and talented husband; her house was the happening place always, for all members and relatives of the Bandyopadhyay Family. She is childless; unfortunately, she lost her husband early in life, but she remained strong all through.
She then channelized her energy in art and music as well as welfare of the poor. She joined a Reputed Music Institution in Kolkata (Geeto Beetan) and mastered in Rabindra Sangeet. For her outstanding performance in music, she was awarded ‘Geet Bharati’ title in early nineties.
She has been an ardent believer of selfless service, which she did throughout her life in keeping the Bandyopadhyay Family’s need as well as for upholding the motto of the family i.e., “Selfless service for people”. She has been always an active member for all social activities of the village, which are sponsored by the family and whole heartedly participated in the formation of NGBM Foundation.
